Nancy Hadley - The Art Director for Extreme Makeover Home Edition
|
Sometimes, this job has pretty nice perks..like when it takes you to Hawaii. So welcome to season 5. From the Akana house, the nursery, complete with
Menehune on a leaf. Next, for all you elementary school kids who want to see how a volcano really works, look at a mountain add Nancy's sculpting and painting,
Paul Dimeo and some phenomenal indoor lighting guys, and you've got one. As you can see, that's how EMHE does it. And last, two of the real talented people
who make EMHE tick - Kim and Greg, along with Nancy. Thanks for being the ones who make the job easier, not harder. And Preston...thanks for everything. We
wish you well.

Corvallis Oregon, home of the Byers family and their daughter Boey. Nancy and her team of volunteers did the painting for Ty's Secret room. Pictured with Ty
are Nancy and design producer Kim, whose considerable talents made this, as well as many other homes, beautiful in the extreme. For Michael Moloney
and the Byers parents, Nancy did a painting to remind them to take time to relax...and Breathe. For Boey's brother, Nancy storyboarded the cominc book
room, and put them on the wall. Proof also that Nancy has other talents in the next photo, as she performs a specialized hair cut on Transpo's Chris Flores,
another person from behind the scenes who makes EMHE tick. Perhaps most remarkable of all is the picture of Oregon Duck Nathan Neubauer, caught
performing actual work. His parents will be astonished, and several people will lose substantial amounts of money on wagers negated by this photo.

Bridgeport, Connecticut and the Brown Family begins with a special thanks to Sass, Pat, and Mike for the incredible faux connection and work for Johnny
Littlefield. Praise dancing inspired the border mural for Eduardo Xol which in turn inspired Kim and Vanessa to dance! A portrait of mime dance was created
by Nancy on the spot. Paige Hemmis did a lawyer/diva room and Nancy was there to add a personal floral touch or two. At the end of each show, the crew
gathers for a quick huddle- here is the view from below. Thanks to Juan Ramirez, Nancy rode in style to the next house.
Billings Montana. There was a London Club room that reminded Nancy of her own 66 Vespa - well, at least in terms of California law. In Billings, Nancy
focussed most of her atteniton on the cool sunset mural, as well as the paisley room . For those of you that are Ty Pennington and Paul Dimeo fans,
here's the poster for their band that never was - Horrorbilly.

The last house completed in season 4 featured some products that Nancy is very familiar with. Tracy Hutson's nursery featured Nancy's very own African Plains wall
decals, one of the three designs Nancy has created for Sandylion. Easy to install, they do not damage walls or paint when your baby grows up and wants something
new. You can order these designs through the Amazon links above, and have a nursery with your own Extreme Makeover Home Edition. In keeping with that theme,
when it came time to decorate the beautiful Radiator Springs mural Nancy painted, she installed Sandylion's Lightning McQueen and Mater decals to help with Johnny
Littlefield's Cars movie room time crunch. They too can be ordered through the links on the right. And just in case you thought it was all easy, Nancy painted a full
mural and furniture in the frog room, and did a faux finish using Modern Masters awesome products for Michael Moloney - which obviously made him happy.

Welcome to Wyoming, EMHE's second animal rescue home. First up is the dog room for new designer Rib Hillis, of Port Arthur fame, with bones by Nancy, but if you
look carefully, a Ron Burns print - a shout out to Ron, who helped us in Texas back when. Next up is little John Littlefield, who obviously needs a lesson in how to
shoot, thoughtfully provided by Nancy, although the goalie made a nice save. Brian Krow , design producer extraordinaire, watches pensively, and contemplates
Nancy's sky mural. Last of all, for the High School Musical themed room, Nancy painted the Masks of Drama, Comedy and Tragedy, on Paige Hemmis' cut out.

Welcome to Jersey, where Nancy had an opportunity to work with some repeat volunteers. First up, Pat and Mike who helped out in the sports room. Next up, the
best airbrush artist ever, Franny Drummond, disguising himself as Paul Dimeo. For Ty's secret room, Nancy did the cutouts using a jigsaw to make her
template, and then with a little Hovnanian magic, she painted the whole room. in a pattern. Last, new designer Rib Hillis having a Slayer moment.

Wow! One hundred shows - and Nancy has been involved with 80%! Minnesota was an incredible experience both professionally and personally. The family's story
was heart wrenching. Nancy got to meet Elmo and his friend Kevin Clash. "Elmo's World" for Tracy Hutson was one of Nancy's favorite assignments - complete with
Elmo plush reliefs with sound effects! Paul Dimeo did a sports room so Nancy and her volunteer team added the personal wall mural touch. For the eldest daughter,
outline images of her setting and spiking adorn the volleyball room walls. Next is a picture of Ty, doing what he does best...falling up. And last, Nancy, in the middle of
the people she loves so well - the incredible EMHE team - to commemorate the 100th episode. Special thanks to Annie, Shannon, Nicole, Sheryl and Dawn. You
were amazing through this one!

Nancy had a great time on the Stockdale home. For the Star Wars inspired room she met some great volunteers and sparred with the Best while Johny Littlefield
jumped to light speed. She designed and painted a 100 acre room mural for Eduardo Xol, recreated a flower motif in the kitchen for Ty Pennington , and worked with
Paul Dimeo and the great Brian, Brian and Todd to give Lincoln a platform. A huge thanks to Ed and Debbie (and their families) for their love of Star Wars and EMHE.
Thanks for staying with Nancy to help her finish. She couldn't have done it without you or the great ladies who helped paint the kitchen flowers. Thanks George Lucas
for the inspiration!

In Kirkland, some old friends came through -and some new ones too. Mike and his team of painters volunteered for the show yet again; this time, they painted the floor
of a swimming pool. For Johnny Littlefield, Nancy painted a Hollywoodland backdrop. In the painting the car license plate is "Elva04". Roxane and Suzie did the New
York and Paris backdrops and then hung out with Barbara and Nancy to make Ty's flower wall just right. Happy Ty. Nancy's great friend, Carla, worked with Nancy in
Paul Dimeo's camping room. That's Paulie, through the armature of the bed he welded with an volunteer welder. Nancy also painted he constellations above. The final
shot shows the real behind the scenes - very tired people - Vanessa, Painter Mike and Kim, who made it all happen. This was a tough build but they made it through.

Milbridge, Maine brought two things Nancy loves dearly together: children's room design and one of her favorite author / illustrators, Eric Carle. For Paul Dimeo,
Nancy used the beautiful artwork of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle to inspire her furniture design and wall murals. Thanks to Eric's Director of
Publishing and Merchandising, Motoko Inoue, Nancy got the okay to proceed. For new designer, Didiayer Snyder, Nancy directed a great team of local artists to
add a little argyle accent to the horse room. Lucky for the show incredible artists and artisans donate time and materials to make design dreams happen.
Pictured with Melissa, Eduardo Xol and Nancy is one of these amazing volunteers, Paul Zank. With his workshop in New Hampshire Paul took one of Nancy's
sketches and created the incredible multi wood family tree. A lotus flower nursery for a baby the family is adopting. And finally some of the above mentioned
painting team following Nancy's sketch and adding personality to the foliage in the dino jungle mural.

Colorado Springs, where Nancy, the Bravo team and some fantastic volunteers created an aquarium room for Ty Pennington - a.k.a.- the guy with the
fish-stache. Nancy takes 5 with Eva in the shelving unit of Eva's design. A remarkable team - for which Nancy sketched some utilitarian dragon concepts -
built a magnificent dragon for Rib Hillis. Rib poses as the ultimate dragon SLAYER. Nancy assembled another team to give the castle loft bed a rockier
appearance. And, as always, there are the people who really make things happen behind the scenes - Nancy with Anne in the ice cream parlor and with Sejal
in the bowling alley. This was Sejal's last show for season five. Great job Sejal!

Here is a very late entry for the Maryland house! With the completion of season 5 Nancy has moved her focus to the KITCHEN (but more to follow on that
note). This update is to pay tribute to the thousands of volunteers who have made Extreme Makeover: Home Edition possible. In the first picture is the
extremely talented artist, Chris Russell, of New York, who has donated time on no less than 9 homes on the East Coast. Reverse shot of her fan and
good pal, Nancy. Next is the amazing Melissa Givens. Her designs made the Maryland home a work of art. Jay Touey, a tech on the show, warns Nancy
of storms ahead in the flight simulator. This man will go far! The flight simulator room to which Nancy added some stylized sky and retro touches. Big
D, the show's lead carpenter, Nancy, Rich Hurn, the man who made the bomber possible, and Justin Ballard the show's carpenter. A room entitled
"pretty metal" for Paige Hemmis. There have been so many great people Nancy has met and worked with on EMHE. From painters to sculptors to
builders to electricians to welders to carpenters to mechanics - the list is so long and covers so many of the United States. Gigantic thanks to those of
you who came and put that anniversary dinner on hold or left little ones with a baby sitter to help make an amazing home for someone else. Your
investment created a ten fold benefit for the recipients. Finally a picture of Nancy's dog, Bosko. His dream came true when her son, Connor, came
across a discarded bag of 100 tennis balls. No wish is too small to grant as long as there is a smile at the end of it!
